Apparently "Gosford Park" was filmed at Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire.
The employers of domestic servants in private households are exempt from the HASAW. What is the position, of the workers and the employer, when private premises are let out for financial benefit.
Does HASAW apply only when hired out?
What about workers whose duties may be partly with the let and partly private. Can HASAW apply to parts of the premises and not to others?
I have an input into premises in a similar position to Wrotham Park

If the staff were 'employed'to work in the film or se5rve the lunches to the stars they were at work, and working other than as domestics.

If their services are 'let' for provate functions as a business venture for their 'employers' and is extracuricular to their normal employment they are 'at work' and in both instances the HASWAct74 applies.

The answer to the last part of your question is also 'Yes' in as much as parts of premises can be subject to HASAWA. It is advisable to set out who will be in control of what parts of the premises at any time within the initial contract/lease/licence/etc.
