Posted By Grad U hate Hi I have been asked to conduct a risk assessment for a forthcoming event. The company are inviting prospective clients to observe our equipment in operation with the view to increasing sales. Has anyone a template I could use to work from, this is my first foray into this area of safety. Your help would be much appreciated Regards

Posted By Raymond Rapp With respect, your risk assessment should be specific to those hazards and risks arising from your workplace. You cannot expect a generic RA to to do that. If you are not competent to complete a RA then you should not have been asked or accepted it. Harsh, but that my friend is reality. In case I have misunderstood your request I shall help with a few pointers as follows: Check access and egress, pedestrian routes, emissions, suitable PPE where required, site induction, emergency and fire procedures. Regards Ray

Posted By Grad U hate Apologies Ray For not being more specific, my current schedule is very busy. I was hoping for a dig out to be honest. The template would allow me to sit down and quickly compile a doc. Regards

Posted By Ali I seem to remember that HSE produced Guidance on Event Safety HSG 195 and Managing Crowds HSG 154. They may prove to be quite useful.
