Posted By Jeff Manion You may need to consider that it is asbestos until proven otherwise. Cost per sample range from £15 to £100 + VAT. To renew / replace with non-asbestos product (costs unknown) may be acceptable. However, if conditions are found to be asbetos when used, is fibre release acceptable against prevention of fire? You will have to decide - risk assessments etc. With the potential replacement asbetos regulations you will have duty to identify and manage at asbestos materials - so consider a survey for location from either an individual with a P.cert in asbestos surveying or UKAS recognised organisaton for the sample procedures. At end of day - be aware of disposal if asbestos - you should not place in normal waste.
