Posted By Melanie Harrison Please can anyone clarify for me whether the above Acts are subject to just civil law action or whether there are elements of criminal law involved as well?

Posted By Sean Fraser Civil - the discrimination claim is brought by an individual through Employment Tribunal or civil court. There is no enforcement body that will prosecute. Posted By David Sinclair Melanie, Civil for corporate bodies - County Court only (therefore max £50,000 claim). However for breach of ss. 57 & 58 DRC can bring a criminal action against individual employees or agents in Magistrates Court. Maximum penalty is Scale 5 = £5,000. Hope this helps. Regards. David
