Please can anyone clarify for me whether the above Acts are subject to just civil law action or whether there are elements of criminal law involved as well?

Civil - the discrimination claim is brought by an individual through Employment Tribunal or civil court. There is no enforcement body that will prosecute.

Civil for corporate bodies - County Court only (therefore max £50,000 claim). However for breach of ss. 57 & 58 DRC can bring a criminal action against individual employees or agents in Magistrates Court. Maximum penalty is Scale 5 = £5,000.
