Posted By Roger Bodycote Can anyone provide me with the minimum distance allowed between beds in a sleeping dormitory? Is there any legislation that covers this?

Posted By Paul Adams Don't know about regulations in this area, I would suggest that a bedside table and wardrobe between each would be adequate space. The Navy put them about 18" apart, vertically that is in dormatories on ships which aren't dormatories because they are called messes. You learn to be tolerant of others! The YHA may be a good scource of information on this?

Are you sure that the commission for social care inspection have no input on your premises. They seem to have opinions about almost anything !

Posted By Merv Newman You might be advised to build a brick wall between each bed.
