My Company wants to allow school children (15 – 16 year olds) to undertake 2 weeks work placement at a couple of our retail outlets starting next week. Under normal circumstances the work environment is low risk.
Does anyone have a risk assessment for this that they could let me have in order to save time as I do not want to say no to the schools involved.

You must already have risk asessments for all your significant tasks and activities? All you are required to do is consider these youngsters as a risk group and the potential for them to come to harm, taking into account there age, lack of experience,on-going physical development etc. You'll probably find the majority of your existing control measures adequately protect this group.
Stuart - you don't need a copy of someone else's Risk Assessments, you need to review your own.

these individuals are classed as "children" and extra duties of care are rquired by the employer.
you will have to provide the parents with a copy of your risk assessment / prohibit certain work situations even when the conditions are acceptable for an adult / take into account their inxeperiance / their lack of awareness of risks to their H & S / the form ,range use of and handling of work equipment / the nature,the degree and the duration of exposure to any chemical,physical,biological hazards / any H & S training they may require and any work which may be beyond their physical and psychological capacity

You will need to look at Council Bye-laws - Protection of Children at Work. The local authority should be involved here.

We work with a lot of the local schools on W.Exp Schemes.
Presumably the school has vetted your company and checked out yyour H&S systems etc.
As well as the regular induction training I always include a simple specific RA/MA detailing the do's and dont's, what work they are doing, whith whom and the hours etc.
I also get emergency contact number; school/mum/dad etc.
Details of any existing health probs etc.
And don't forget Written Parental Permission if they are to be allowed to leave the premises at lunch-time.
All obvious stuff I know...............
