One of our scaffolders has a card (from 1975!) issued by "national joint council for the engineering construction industry". He claims it does not need to be updated (unlike the ECITB or CISRS cards).

Does anyone know if this is still a viable card scheme? Is it equivalent to the other schemes?

Try asking them directly:

National Joint Council For The Engineering Construction Industry
Walmer House
296 Regent Street
London
W1B 3AW

Tel: 020 7636 6291
Fax: 020 73233402

Let us know what the response is, though I can pretty much guess!
