Posted By Paul Durkin Hi All, On return from hols,I have been sent a fire risk warning concerning a desk top oscillating fan.The particular model is a Micromark MM300082.However,it may apply to other makes.Apparently an electrical fault developed which was caused by the mains cable between the pedestal and the oscillating head of the fan wearing through.This resulted in short-circuiting with considerable sparking and smoke damage to the unit.This happened on a local NHS site.I have asked the manufacturers to comment !!! i.e.Has there been any recalls,I missed when away?? Posted By John Webster You will note from the 1997 notice that the manufacturer was offering a replacement part. I expect that the people you are talking to now were just not around 9 years ago!
