Hi,
I am looking to introduce a behavioural safety based training programme within the workplace. From experience could anyone recommend a suitable programme that engaged both management and employees.
Cheers
Kevin

Careful, Kevin
... a valid reply depends on how you accurately you measure 'engagement'.
The most valid programme is one you design yourself with crystal clear understanding of the psychological measurement involved. For that, the guidance of Dan Petersen, Ton McSween, Scott Geller and Tom Krause are all good.
If you need help to understand how to record and interpret the relevant statistics, 'Practical Business Statistics', A F Siegel, Fifth Edition. McGraw Hill, 2003 is great.
The principal reason so many behaviour-based safety programmes disappoint is that those who lead it don't understand the statistical measurements and/or fail to explain adequately the strengths and limitations of the measures used.

Hi Kevin
We had a guy come to our place of work called Frank Carrano.
He does a Safety Presentation on an accident he had at work. My blokes saw it and it is very hard hitting, it certainly changed their attitudes and behaviour after they had seen it and made me think about going home safely at night to see my wife and kids.
I’m sure he is now starting up on his own doing Behavioural Safety training type stuff.
His details are at www.accident-awareness.co.uk

There is a lot of them out there. Look for something which demands a lot of employee participation but is "administration lite"
If you want more (free) info/advice, please e-mail me. I don't want to be accused of being too commercial on this site.
