Posted By Homer Good day to you all. Dose anyone have an outline of expected knowledge and responsibility for a Contracts/Construction Manager with regards Health and Safety. They would be overviewing a number of Projects but would also have direct access to an in house Safety Manager.

Posted By Catman Hi Homer I dont have anything pre prepared but would expect a contracts/construction manager to understand and manage all the health & safety aspects of sites under their control. The access to the safety manager should be used for preparation of systems, training, and assistance with systems used on site, resolving issues, etc. Sorry cant be more help\ with a prepared spec. Cheers TW

Posted By Michael Battman I would expect as an absolute minimum for a Contracts Manager post that they have completed the CITB's "Site Management Safety Training Scheme" or equivalent. I think that WTI does a similar construction based course. If they had anything less I would not be comfortable that the candidate was competent in H&S matters.

Posted By Catman Martin Are you anticipating the response from the construction/contracts manager when you tell him that this is his job?
