I have been asked to develop the health and safety procedures for our construction company with approx 40 people. I know it's a bit cheeky but has anyone got something I can use, or even some advice. Being new to this game I do not have much experience on implementing procedures so any help off you more experienced guy's and girls would be great.
Many Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim
My advice is quite straight forward really.
- involve the people who do the work in identifying the hazards, controls and the best way to do the job.
- keep work instructions very simple and with as little text as possible.
- use photographs to show the ideal standard and safe way of working.
- don't assume that people will follow them without consultation, involvement, support and monitoring.
- process (talk through and discuss) the procedures with people out on the job. Do not just issue and expect compliance.
Hope it goes well.
All the best
Ian

Just wondering if the author of "Principles of Construction Safety" is Allan St John Holt?
