I have lost my info therefore can anyone tell me how long a basic food hygiene certificates lasts before it is due for renewal

To quote the Industry Guideto Good Hygiene Practice;
"Training needs should be reviewed on a regular basis. Refresher or update training may be necessary at intervals. The frequency should be related to the risk and nature of the business and the food handled, also the skill, competence and experience of the individual employee"

same old chestnut, if there is evidence of poor practice then reasonable to assume that training needs should be reviewed.

To echo the previous post, there is no set expiry for food hygiene certs - if its a significant period e.g. 5 years I would suggest some refresher training (inhouse) might be worthwhile!
