Posted By LCM The guidance for CDM 2007 was due out in January with the legislation coming into force in April. I have just been on the phone to HSE books (as they are advertising the guidance on their website) who informed me it won't be available until March/April.
Does anyone know about this delay?

Posted By Crim Sorry to jump on your thread LCM but I have to ask a question here!
Further to the delay does anyone know if the proposed ACOP on the web can be trusted?
I need to know as I am preparing some training for Designers who are now working on projects which will be covered by the new CDM 07 regs.
I'm sure there will be many others out there in the same position?

Posted By MAK this is the latest upate from the HSE CDM discussion group:
"Dear Discussion group member
There have been a number of messages asking for the final draft of the ACOP. It had been the intention , as indicated in a previous message and in the introduction pages to this site to post the final draft.
The copies of the ACOP and Regs agreed by the Commission are available. (these are ones that have been posted already dated october 2006) The current draft submitted for agreement by the Minister has been editorially corrected and in few places more closely aligned to the Regulations. It is however substantively unchanged.
A final decison is yet to be made on whether the ACOP will be free on the web or as with all other HSE ACOPs a priced document . Until then I will not be placing the final draft on this site"
The post was placed by Andrew East Construction Division HSE. unfortunately there has been extensive debate on the HSE website regarding actual date of release and much consternation that the final version is going to be made available, but to buy!
check out the site for further info.

Posted By Robert K Lewis Just to let everybody know that Andrew East, HSE, has drawn back from the promise above but assures everybody that the draft sent to HSC and approved in October is substantially unaltered.
The issue seems to one of loss of revenue if the version before the minister is made availabel for download. The bean counters want every penny income.

Posted By David Brede A suggestion has come forward on the HSE CDM website that IOSH may be accrediting a 3 day 'New CDM' course.
Clearly this would be a massive opportunity for IOSH as well as benchmarking such a course as one of a given standard from a Chartered Institute.
Can IOSH comment on this.

Posted By David Brede The new ACOP is on the HSE website!
Commenting Andrew East of the HSE has said :-
Hopefully this will aid you all in developing a clear understanding of the requirements, objectives and any training plans you may have for CDM
I would draw your attention to Reg 45 on Civil Liability and Reg 46 on Fire, both of which have been slightly altered from the copy submitted to the Commission and posted on this site.
The ACOP at paragraphs around 52 and 53 have been slightly altered to make sure the ACOP aligned fully with the Regulations.

Posted By JEB Just an update on the last posting, once you are registered (or if you already are) then from the "home" page go to "documents". The latest draft of the ACOP and Regs are now available, hopefully as they will be published, if the minister ever signs them.
