has anyone caried out any Risk Assessments regarding the above particularly relating to 16-19 year olds on work Placements ? I would be most grateful for any assistance.

What sort of working at height?

e.g. roofwork, telcoms rigging, painting and decorating, etc, etc

One thing to be aware of - although there is not a specific reg which prevents young persons working at height there may be local bye laws. Check with the local authority.

I would be averse in exposing young people to serious hazards like working at height. For a start, a risk assessment would have to be conducted to assess the risk and suitability of the person. I am all for some reality to work placements, but ensure you have a solid SSoW.
