I am looking for a sources of information (statistical or articles) that outline outbreaks of Legionnaire's across the globe, especially Germany and mainland Europe.
The reason is that some of my German colleagues, although apparently acknowledging the risk, often scoff and say that it 'isn't a problem in Germany'. Even my lovely lady (who's been a German all her life) stares at me with a blank, slightly disapproving look, that only Germans can give!
I would like to alter their opinion with some good old fashioned, home grown facts.
However, I have tried the Berufsgenossenschaft's website, BAuA, OSHA EU and a host of other shady EU sites (ahem), and have drawn a blank. I have Googled my days away to within an inch of a written warning! All to no avail.
If it really isn't a 'problem', does anyone know why? How does Germany control the risk apparently soooo well? is it something in the water?
Come on you learned bunch! Please help this 'Inselaffe' in his quest!

We have been researching Legionella for all sorts recently, and I have been looking at e-journals on this website which have journals and articles from all over the world. Seriously though, as far as I am aware, Germans have no specific immunity to the legionella bacillus and the environment is not inimical to it's growth. i.e. it's there and under the right conditions would result in cases of legionnaire's disease.
If there were a pattern that prevents this from happening, I would suggest looking at cultural differences for it's source. Some nations have very different value systems and there is often great diversity within a nation.
