Posted By Jim Walker Going though Aug SHP "In court" section it struck me how many accidents there has been recently due to (as one headline puts it) traditional factory accidents. I wonder how many would have been prevented if we went back to the (quite recent) days, when you could expect a HSE visit every couple of years.

Posted By Derek Carpenter The lack of visits is a clear negative but is it just me that thinks the standard of enforcers has gone down anyway? Most officers know a little about a lot but i wonder if knowing a lot about a little would create a more specialist approach? Before the rush to shoot the messenger, i am simply thinking aloud to encourage views!

Posted By Mark Eastbourne I think it depends on the experience of the HSE Inspector, I have met some who know more about certain subjects tahn others and thereby focus on these issues more. Rarely have I met one who is as knowledgeable as like what I am...:)
