Hello there
I work in a college, and we have a large hair dressing department, with regards to risk assessments they are very good, but My question is do we need to do a separate risk assessment for each bit of equipment they use, i.e straighteners hair dryers, or can i put it in to one general categories..
Is there anywhere I can find information on Hair dressing risk assessments.

You can only "lump" equipment together if they perform the same function and have the same hazards (eg various scissors, various hairdryers). If the hazards differ that is the trigger to do a new risk assessment.
