Hello,

Does anyone have experience of the above? I am investigating an incident and trying to find out the correct interval for testing the lift intercom. Some European rules are approx. every 3 days and not to wait until maintenance is carried out. I'm wondering what BS says. Can you help?

Tks

Joolz

I managed to obtain an answer though I'm not too thrilled at it. You are all hopeless; my first thread and no response. :-( Only kidding. :-)

This is what BS EN 81-28 says;

The alarm equipment shall automatically simulate the input signal of an alarm(automatic test) and set up the subsequent connection to the reception equipment for testing purposes as frequently as required by the safety of users when the lift is used as intended, but at least every 3 days.

Most helpful Paul but is completely different to the information emailed to me by IOSH. I like your answer better! :-)
