I presume you are referring to the RRFSO? I Googled it and found many references including the ones below. Not sure what job you are being interviewed for but I suggest you show a little more initiative than you have so far if you want the job.

Good luck.

Colin.

What part of Britain do you live in, as the legislation differs over the borders.

As a starting point have a look at a fire service website as they often provide a summary of the legislation.

Have a look here at the London fire Brigade Page with a link to FAQs

http://www.london-fire.g...atoryReformOrder2005.asp

or here to see a summary of the main parts (articles) of the legislation

All,

I have looked for an ACOP breaking down the requirements of the individual regs but struggled to find one.
I am aware of all the Guidance documents relating to writing a Fire Risk Assessment.

Can anyone help on an ACOP?

You could have a peek at
http://www.communities.g...resafetylaw/aboutguides/
which gives all the guides you hopefully will need, with FAQ's, explanation of interpretation of the RRO to a degree.
Hope it helps

Hang about, the guy is asking for help to prepare for an interview and what do we do? Shower him with all sorts of rubbish. The guy asked where he can get some information to read through to prepare for the interview not a lot of tut tuting and insults. Give the guy some sort of acknowledgement he is unsure and has asked for help. Get a copy of the RRFSO from the web and read it through it will give you an idea of the law as it stands, then go and have a look at BS 999:2008 but be careful it is quite expensive. Then have a quick look at the fire extinguisher installations and equipment on premises standard BS5306-8:2000 taht should give you a good basic understanding, but remember it is not all that you will need to know.

If you don't have ready access to the BSs, you might be able to see them at your local library. Here, they are available online once logged on to a terminal at the library.

Hang on Bob
the link which I gave provides a general overview of the RRO with further information which can be selected if you want to get more info by topic, by type of premises, etc. The guides contain the information you referred to and more, and are in an explanatory form rather than in sterile legalese which the RRO and other legislation is published. This was a request for an overview, not specifics.
I didn't think that my input was inappropriate

I agree up to a point, Martin - the link you posted is the right starting point and the Order and the BS are not the way to get a general understanding.

And so yet another thread started by a simple request for information runs true to type.
First the insults and condescention. Then the argument about who is right and who is wrong. Somewhere in there they may be some useful information to help out a colleague but hey who cares about that?

Cheers.

I don't think the ODPM exists any more have been subsumed into the Department for Communities and Local Government.
