Hi All,
Can someone please clarify if a temporary works design is required for fixing a number of external lighting lamps, which possibly weighs approximately 10kg to rock netting?
This is on a construction site and if a temporary works design is required, can someone point me in the right direction on where I can get this in writing.
Many Thanks,
Mike

I suspect that these are a contractor design item:-)
The answer is "it depends on how you intend to gain access?"
If using a piece of equipment such as a Cherrypicker then the answer is no. If using a scaffold the answer could be YES depending on the precise nature of the scaffold - you need to talk to your scaffolder on this remebering you need BS EN12811(hope thats the roght number) or TG20 if it is tube and fitting. Scaffolds are structures under CDM definitions.
In general terms I still prefer to reserve the term temporary works for structures erected temporarily that are load bearing in some way eg Temporary Ground support, Temporary formworks, Temporary structure shoring/support etc.
