Hi
Can anyone tell me please if a felling lever would be classified as lifting equipment for the purposes of LOLER and therefore require 12 monthly inspections?
Thanks

Not exactly sure about LOER, but it will certainly fall under the PUWER Regs which also requires assessments and inspections

Robert I would say that there is no LOLER requirement, it is not lifting equipment. Forget LOLER, as David says it is Work Equipment and PUWER applies.
Establish a system for users to inspect them for damage / defect before use

Definatley not LOLER as designed for a single purpose, I use these regularly, As Steve says inspected by user for damage and defects (PUWER).

Agree with other replies; LOLER definitely not required as at no time is the lever used to suspend a load simply to provide mechanical advantage when toppling the tree.

Hi
Many thanks for all the replies. It seems clear that only PUWER applies and I will deal with this accordingly. Your assistance is really appreciated.
