Hi all just a quick one on gas if I may. Our kitchen staff are required evey wednesday to change the grill bar unit where thay cook bugers etc over to a rotisserie for the weekly roast chicken, lamb whatever. All this really involves is disconnecting one then connenting the other, it's a 5min job. My qestion is do they need to be trained by a gas safe qualified person to do this or would another competent person be able to train them eg: a senior chef etc?. We have M&E onsite but they won't touch it because they say it has be done by a gas safe engineer comments most welcome many thanks mike

My view is that it's clearly intended to be changed over by the way the manufacturer has designed and built the unit to utilise another feature of the equipment. so long as it is carried out as per manufacturers instructions then i can't see an issue with anyone carrying it out so long as they are trained. Phil P.S whats an M&E

as already stated if the equipment is intended by the supplier to be used this way in a domestic situation then it should be an easy matter - base training by somebody suitable If this activity is not designed to be used in this way then take proper advice
