Rank: Super forum user		Sorry if this has been asked before but how long should a company keep DSE assessment records for. We currently complete these every 2 years for all staff (over 4000) and it has been suggested that we retain these for 40 years which seems to me to be excessive and would result in a paper mountain somewhere. Thank you for your thoughts in advance

Rank:: Super forum user		The 40 yrs for record keeping applies to occ health records only. A DSE assessment is not an occ health record. Technically you only need to have the current one (same as for other types of RA's). I'm sure many companies have a different actual policy though.

Rank: Guest		They say that you learn something new every day, today I have learnt that DSE assessments do not have to be completed every 12 months, they only need to be completed on a regular basis or if there is a change to your workstation, or finally if the employee flags up a problem.

Rank: Super forum user		Seems to me you should have no problem at all in developing a business case for using an on-line assessment tool (inter- or intranet based). Keeping tabs on all of this must be a nightmare and a serious drain on resources.
