Has anyone got a useful flow chart/checklist etc etc for a construction project that can be used for monitoring the handover/gathering of H&S File information on a standard single storey construction. I.e. starting from ground works right through to finish? Thanks

That's going to depend very much on the complexity of the building. Important principle is to ensure that relevant information is obtained from specialist contractors (M&E, IT telecomms, etc.) BEFORE they leave! This should include marked-up drawings. Too often consideration of matters for the H&S File is left to the Project end, when these specialists (and the information they had) is long gone. Chances are they've also been paid, so chasing them for information is a futile exercise. The good CDM-C will analyse the build complexity and sequencing and recognise key dates when specialist info will become available and keep a close contact with Project Team to capture any significant change to design during the Construction Phase. All "Project Specific" in my view, however the various GANT charts and process spreadsheets already available should serve as a template?

Thanks Ron, I understand that certain things are 'site specific'. Its the GANT charts and process spreadsheets already available that I am looking for (to do a bit of benchmarking against our own processes). Can you advise as per my original posting where I would get these?

These would normally be produced by the Client and perhaps also the PC. As CDM-C you'd want to keep up to speed with changes to the various programmes therein.

Thanks Ron, I have the programme etc from the PC and use this to identify the significant risks and key milestones, its a document that would make it more specific to the h&s file.....maybe one doesnt exist!!
