Rank: Forum user		Afternoon jarsmith83, There is HSE Guidance on 'Maintaining portable electric equipment in low-risk environments' published in 2012. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg236.pdf Depending on your environment this may be more helpful. This new guidance recommends testing from not required to 1-5 years. Hope this helps. Richard

We also expect our staff to look at the equipment and not to use it if it is damaged or otherwise unsafe. Annual PAT test are over the top for this sort of environment. If the equipment is used in a harsher environment and gets some grief then we test more often- at least annually.

Spot on Walker - Very busy and on the rare days where I do have time to myself I offer advise to others. I have had roles in the past where I have free time to offer more advise on this forum but sever;y under pressure at the moment, so the forum is a very useful tool when people are so kind to provide links, advise etc which can half time researching. Just to add, the search function did not work correctly when I tried using it.

Rank: Super forum user		The search function has never worked for me. It just freezes up. I don't agree that user error is the cause. It is more likely to be that it works on some systems and not on others.
