We have a central heating system in our offices fed by a gas boiler which is serviced and certified gas safe annually.
Our workshop has 4 ceiling mounted gas fired warm air heaters.
My question is do these workshop heaters fall under the same gas safe requirements as the central heating boiler?

They shouldn't fall if they've been fitted properly.

You're welcome.

Commercial and domestic gas servicing & inspections
The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 impose duties on users of gas systems to
ensure they are safe and suitable for use. These duties include taking responsibility for the
annual servicing and inspection of all in-service gas boilers, fires, heaters and any other type of
gas burning equipment.
Regardless of the size, type or location of such appliances and systems, it is mandatory to
ensure that they are serviced, often in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, at least
once a year. Failure to comply with this legislation may result in prosecution.
Make sure the gas enginer who services the heaters is qualified to do so - not same qualifications as servicing a domestic type boiler.

Thanks for the response guys but..................................I'm more confused than ever now.
Is it a LEGAL requirement to get COMMERCIAL gas appliances, such as warm air heaters serviced and certified or is it just a requirement to do so in line with manufacturers reccomendations?
Our gas boiler that serves our central heating for the office is no bigger than a domestic one, wall mounted feeding 6 radiators.

A staggering comment indicating a woeful lack of knowledge and understanding of Gas Safety Regulations.

John, playing devil's advocate for a minute, I think that the original post was an attempt at humour - "they won't fall if they are fitted properly" rather than "they won't fall under the regulations"

Have a look at
Safety in the installation and use of gas systems and appliances
Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
ACOP (free on HSE web site) ISBN 978 0 7176 6617 1
Part F Regulation 35 (page 66)
It covers the maintenance of all gas appliances
Further information is given in the HSE publication Safe use of
work equipment. Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
Approved Code of Practice and guidance (www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/l22.htm).
See also www.gassaferegister.co.uk.
Hope this helps

When we had our 'domestic' boiler serviced last year, i considered the warm air heaters also, concluding however they only needed servicing as per the manufacturers reccomendations and therefore certifying as gas safe not annually.
Now i'm not so sure.

You don't need a CP12 that is provided to land lords of domestic properties who have gas appliances supplied to the tenant - boiler / cooker etc.
You need to ensure your gas fired equipment is in good working order, this entails having them regularly serviced by a qualified registered gas engineer. The time frequency depends on a multitude of things - such as manufacturer's recommendations, environment they are located, how often they are used, age of appliance. When they are serviced they are / should be given a safety check as well, checking gas pressure, general condition. You should also have all of the gas pipes in the building checked at the same time.
Most businesses have this done annually, but I have know it to be carried out every 3 months.
