I am looking to start some safety training in my company and would like to use some videos to get the message across. Videos like Ken Woodward and Kate's story make things very real and I was hoping this forum could point me in the direction where I may be able to download more similar videos.

Thanks

It may help if people knew what sort of message it was you are trying to put across / point you want to make.

There is the "remember Charlie" video

It is an hour long and you have to buy it. I think it was around £650.

It is the injured person standing on a stage giving a talk on what happened to him and his family and other in the hospital with him. He worked for petrochemical company, didn't do as he should, got badly burned, though he was not gruesome to look at. The story gets to you. He did not blame the company he blamed himself for not following the rules. I think he was making a living telling the story.

We showed it to our entire workforce including Accounts etc.

Some men shrugged their shoulders, some close to tears.

If you can find someone local with a copy who would be willing to show you before you buy, would allow you to assess.

There was another good video I was shown on a training course. I was an account of a fork truck accident by the manager, and how it affected him. Keys left in truck he left to go get something from home. Sorry I don't remember the name of the video, the manager had a Scottish accent I think (Shown by EEF). Perhaps others may know what I'm babbling on about.

'The Cost of Accidents'. Was produced by SGB (now Harsco). It seems to be on youtube and vimeo (though I don't know of the legality of its presence there) so you can see if it meets what you want. The DVD is £50 from http://www.cip-books.com/

I included a video link on one of our recent blogs which might be of interest to you - relates to a fall from height? http://goodtogosafety.bl...ght-idiots-guide-to.html

I have used this video in EHS presentations for the past few years. Its the only safety video that I have used that always seem to get lots of good feedback from employees. Its non cheesy, not too long (12 mins) and is very well made. It bascially explains (by telling a very interesting story) the consequences of committing unsafe acts. The twist at the end of the video always takes people by surprise and leaves them thinking..

The HSE's turning concern into action video does focus on the construction industry but I use it in all workplaces. Get's the message across very clearly.
