Had a bloke in my office last week who needed either new shoes or shoelaces as his laces were breaking - hmmm, difficult choice there. I duly dug around in my drawers and came up with the right size of laces for his boots in the right colour (we have all the colours in all the sizes here). I gave them to him in the packet and he then asked me for another packet so he could do both boots at the same time :O.

I just stared at him for what felt like hours but was probably just a second or two before explaining that shoelaces were not sold singly. This guy was like ... 40 with a degree!!!!

I have a quip about people with degrees - "they can tell you the square root of a jar of pickles but they can't take the lid off!"

oi... :)

That is a discrimatory Statement! The pickles can't stand up for themselves...... the jar is thier protective factor and gives them comfort. They have to want to come out....

Besides I am sure there is a risk assessment somewhere saying that you Need the correct PPE to open the jar..

I live near a farm and every day when I go past the herd of cows I feel I have to shout abuse at them...turns out I am dairy intollerant...

sorry I'll get my coat...

I agree. if I remember back in ????? (memories going already) I started one asking 'Am I Too Old' to continue as a H&S consultant. well I am now, however, you cannot take away the experience and knowledge I have soaked up over the forty plus years. OK I have to keep up with Legislation that goes without saying. Competent? yes I will blow my own trumpet and say Yes.
I know its only Thursday, but once again I agree, lets bring some humor back to Fridays (Tomorrow).
Remember, we can ALL learn something from a bit of humor.
Cheers Guys

Why do some people think humour on this forum should be limited to Fridays?

Because we are conditioned to believe that Friday is the end of the week so it's a relaxed and fun day.

I like Wednesday afternoon myself because there is less of the week in front of you than behind.

And of course the moderators seem to be more relaxed and let it happen.

He was a great writer but as a weapon, I can think of other things to use, a gun, tank etc. The pen isn't mighter than the sword, in a fight I know which one I would choose.
