If an employee is injured as part of a sporting activity at work (for whatever reason that may be charity, mandatory or recreational).  Would you consider an absence from work because of the injury as a LTI or possibly RIDDOR?

That very much depends on whether it is charity, mandatory or recreational!

Hi there

I'd be interested to know where sport would be mandatory?

It can happen in a "team building" context.

If an injury is sustained during play or through the rough and tumble of the sport then it is not RIDDOR. If it were due to a poor pitch or a premises defect issue then it probably woild be reportable.
