Hi All

Got an interview tommorrow looking for some tips.Although I am a Health and Safety Advisor in my current employment I am going for an interview for a Health and Safety Officer some may think this is a backward or sideway step bit in the big picture I feel in my present employment I can't go any further but in my opinion I have more chance of progression if I am selected for the position I am getting an interview for any thoughts

My main tips would be to thoroughly research the company to make sure you have an understanding of their values and how they operate; during the interview tailor your answers to show that you are thinking 'their way' (but keep your individuality in there too!); if you're asked anything that you're not certain of the answer, don't bluff but give your best answer and say where you would obtain further information - I don't think anyone want to hire a safety officer who will just guess at answers (competency is knowing what you don't know as well as what you do know after all).

Not sure if that's any help or not, I hope so!

Good advice from Marcus there. Research is key, they will always ask what you know about the company. If you can dazzle them with some facts and figures about them then youre onto a good start straight away. Be confident, but don't be cocky
