Does the client need insurance or just the PC and CDMC etc.

An employer is legally required to have Employers Liability Insurance (since 1969 i think) Public liability insurance is optional but strongly recommended and most businesses would have this as their clients probably wouldn't engage them without it.

If you mean specific to the construction work then there is a clause in standard contracts placing the onus on the contractor. There is also generally an indeminity clause Bob

A client should consider insuring against risks arising from the construction work to be done. It is good to have a risk review to assess all of these and to put in mitigations so the risk is reduced and the premiums kept down.
