Hi

Im looking to find out what the rules are for using tracked vehicles on a public highway and would appreciate  being pointed in the right direction. I have read that its ok as long as the tracks have rubber groves and below four tonne also that a licence is required but i would like to find out more.

Thanks

The category H licience is for those vechicles that are tracked and driven with Levers.

The cat C licence specifically mentions half tracks. The definition of a half track is a vehicle driven by tracks but steered by wheels.

You will need to pass a test though  see here https://www.gov.uk/learning-to-drive-a-tractor-or-specialist-vehicle/driving-tests-for-tractors-and-specialist-vehicles
