Posted By Iain W Zola, I am about to start the PGC. The minimum requirements for entry was the Nebosh general certificate combined with relevant experience of which I had to state in my application. Since I did the NEBOSH cert about 9 years ago, I had to do a professional development course in risk and safety management which was then assessed by the uni before they would allow me to do the PGC. I passed, but had I failed I would not have been granted study. I suppose the entry quals for the PGC will be the same no matter what uni you apply to, but it may be worthwhile starting off with the Nebosh cert anyway for a proper grounding in health and safety law etc, if you do not already have this through your experience, before moving onto the diploma or the PGC. Why don't you call the Uni and find out the entry qualifications, then take it from there, I am sure you will get many more replies with sound advice from this forum Good luck in whatever you choose Iain

Posted By Arran Linton - Smith Zola, As you already have the IOSH Managing Safely course, I cannot see that there is any significant value in completing the NEBOSH General Certificate. IOSH Membership does offer some careers advice and it is worth contacting them in the first place. In the case of most Post Graduate courses, the entry criteria is whether the course tutor believes that you would be able to cope with the course or not.
