I gained my NEBOSH certificate two years ago. took a year off then enrolled at UWIC to study for a MSc in Occupational Health & Safety. I was talking to someone who told me that I was wasting my time as this qualification will not be recognised, has anyone else heard this Im not sure if I will be wasting my time enrolling for year two. any feed back most welcome.

Sharon,
The UWIC MSc is recognised by IOSH as meeting the academic requirement for Graduate Membership (leading to Chartered Membership).

Hello Shaz,

Generally most people that tell you it is a waste of time have either never bothered to study for it or have so many qualifications that they see it as a 'minor' step to their personal Kingdom of Knowledge!

I would suggest it is worth having, but more importantly, back it up afterwards with experience.

I wish you every success.

thanks for the response and e.mail that you have all sent much appreciated I would hate to think I had spent all those hours studying for nothing. I have four years part time and two years full time experience as a health & safety advisor.
regards shaz
