Last year we announced that IOSH was working in partnership with the publishers of SHP magazine to develop a new online careers service for members. This service is now available at www.SHP4jobs.co.uk.

We’ve listened to all your comments and suggestions, and included a range of new features to make your career development even easier:

- Terms of use based on opt-ins
- Upload and store up to five CVs in your personal area
- Create your own custom search criteria with the ‘search builder’
- Keep track of your application history with your saved profile
- See how your salary compares with the salary checker
- Access a selection of careers advice articles
- Registration for recruiters discouraging timewasters

Recruiters also have access to a range of new online services which ensure immediate online placement of advertisements with no magazine lead-times:

- Advertise your non-permanent vacancies online for the low cost of £200
- Add your company profile to SHP4jobs and attract the best candidates to your vacancies
- Maximise exposure of your vacancies with a downloadable ‘job cast’
- Choose from a range of banner advertising opportunities across all pages of the site

Hello Ian,

If a job advertisement states a deadline date than the vacancy should automatically be removed once this date passes. Advertisements without a deadline date will normally stay live for 8-10 weeks unless the advertiser requests otherwise.

At the moment the site is primarily populated with the positions advertised within SHP magazine so currently you will see a large number of new vacancies posted on a monthly basis. However advertisers can ask for jobs to go up on our site immediately and a function also exists for regular advertisers to directly upload their vacancies onto the site. We have also introduced a cost effective on-line only option for short term and contract positions - these will also go up on the site immediately. Consequently as the site develops we expect to see an increasing number of vacancies appearing on a daily basis.

Once again, can I please request that you do use the Site Feedback option (located in the top and bottom tool bars) to report any glitches you come across - if we don't know about them we can't fix them. We are very grateful for all your assistance.

Why is the list of jobs that the search produces limited to 150? This precludes a full list of all jobs that have been posted in the last 7 days at the moment which I think is running at 168.
