Hi

I have decided to start looking for a career move into health and safety. I was a works manager for 6 years and I had the full responsibility for all health and safety on the site therefore I obtained my IOSH managing safely certificate and my NEBOSH certificate. I have also completed training in CDM regs, Coshh, Noise, roof work etc.

One thing that I am finding is that my applications are mainly being turned down because I was not a full time health and safety manager/advisor.

Anybody out there available to give me some advice or is there a company willing to take me on a non-paid trial period to show my capabilities?

Mark, make sure your CV is written to highlight your achievements in H&S and level of competence. The other parts of your previous role should then form a very strong supporting act to that.

Good luck in what is an increasingly hostile environment for job hunting.

What location are you looking for work?

Currently have a vacancy for a Health & Safety Officer based in North East Lincolnshire & I am sure you will have a lot of transferable skills.

Please respond to works email address:
