Water Safety Education for Young People by RNLI

The RNLI have recently appointed 10 Regional Education Officers across the country to co-ordinate RNLI water safety education for young people.
All these education officers are seeking to identify , train and support volunteers to make presentations at schools and youth groups about the work of the RNLI and to teach basic water safety messages to people below the age of 18 years.
They are interested in networking with local organisations involved in Health and Safety Education to become involved in Youth Safety events such as Crucial Crew and Junior Citizen Schemes as well as schools and youth groups.
Is this institution a suitable conduit to such agencies?
Anyone interested in contacting their local Education Officer will be able to reach them at their regional fundraising office, details on www.rnli.org.uk

This should be of interest to members who have a safety education role or who work for Education departments. Additionally there are others who work in local government, etc who have an interest in promoting water safety (such as community safety officers, public safety officers, home safety officers, road safety officers, environmental health officers, etc). Junior Citizen schemes are often organised by, or with, the local police 'community/juvenile' section. This initiative is to be welcomed and I wish the RNLI every success.
