Posted By Peter Roddis Have any of the local authority safety advisers been involved in job evaluation? If so I would appreciate some discussion about the outcomes as we are just going through using the Hay Job Evaluation scheme. Any advice on how to approach this would be useful.

Posted By Zoe Barnett Hi Peter We've just been evaluated though our authority didn't use Hay. I have to say that the results were disappointing as the system used seemed geared towards benefitting people in less specialised jobs, such as classroom assistants and so on. There is some debate here as to what system our principal officers will use for their evaluations - but wouldn't you know it, H&S isn't up there in the "principal" grades. If you'd like a chat please feel free to contact me. What's that saying about paying peanuts?
