Fire,Electrical,Welfare,Chemical,Housekeeping,Environment,First Aid,Slips Trips & Falls,Manual Handling,Machinery. This list is not a panacea for all hazards relating to construction sites, but it is a good start. Once you get into the routine of a check list your halfway there, plus you can add to it as the site changes through its progression. As for report writing I tend to keep it simple and to the point. following the findings paragraph I always include a piece about the benefits of maintaining a good safety culture compared to the cost of of an accident or safety failure, Accidents, insurance, fines, morale etc. If management can see a cost saving they are more likely to respond positively I have a paper back book on report writing styles.
