Posted By Lance Morgan Ganglion or synovial cysts are fairly common. They are caused by an accumulation of synovial fluid in a tendon surounding joints usually in the wrist and hand. The precise reason for this occurring is not known. Repetative movement may aggrevate the symptoms but is not necessarily a cause. Most do not cause problems and some resolve without surgical intervention. Hope that helps.
