Posted By Elizabeth Ashford I have been asked to look into the possibility of planning and installing a small canteen/kitchen, where food preparation, cooking and storage will take place. The intention is to employ a designated person to oversee the operation of the canteen/kitchen. The area that has been designated is an existing room on a first floor, which has a single fire exit, leading to a staircase and then a final exit out of the building. Does any other Forum users have any experience of similar projects or where I can go a source of further advice?. Thank you in anticipation. Kind regards Elizabeth Ashford

Posted By Paul Adams It sounds as if you will become a provider of food and therefore should be licenced as such depending on your LA. Worth asking your local EHO about the requirements.
