Posted By Michael Turner I have been asked to format a risk assessment and permit to work form which applies specifically to live working on fixed electrical installations, does anyone out there have such a thing or know were I could find any information? Thanks for the help Mike

Posted By Calum R Cameron You will be hard pushed to justify any live working and comply with the EWA. You should try not to allow it apart from a bit of commissioning.

A PTW is used as confirmation that a circuit is DEAD, and should only be used for confirming isolation and other safety precautions taken to ensure that a circuit REMAINS DEAD during the course of the work. A Sanction for Test is used for live working, and is subject to the stringent requirements of Reg 14 of the Electricity at Work Regs, detailed in the other thread.
