As part of the pre-employment medical lung functions are carried out to give a base line and any significant deterioration is investigated by the Occupational Health provider. As an aside, if there is an underlying problem or history of heart or lung disease, [likewise smokers] this can, and often is considered to be an acceptable explanation for the change. Robin

Posted By Robert S Woods COSHH 2002 reg 11 states that the maximum period for testing is 12 months for substasnces in schedule 6. For testing required for 11 (2 b there is no specific time mentioned. Am i correct in assumuing that the 12 month maximum applies for both? Advice appreciated. Bob
