Posted By Tom McGlew Barry,
HSG 67: H&S In Motor Vehicle Repair is a handy document covering all aspects of MVR. There is a bit in there about lifting equipment - hoists, jacks and axle stands. I am pretty sure jacks and axle stands are covered by PUWER and not LOLER.
Hope this helps.

Posted By Roger Blanchard Barry, The HSE Info document HSE 803/69 " Guidance on the application of PUWER & LOLER to motor vehicle repair" via the following link on HSE web site should give you all info you require. http://www.hse.gov.uk/fod/infodocs/803_69.pdfFrom this, hydraulic vehicle jacks need thorough exam every 12 months under LOLER & axle stands 12 monthly PUWER inspection. Hope this helps Roger
