Help.
This is a personal enquiry.
I have just been informed that EDF energy intend to put move an existing substation to 1 metre from my house.
I have spoken to the planning authority who said that they did raise some objections in terms of loss of amenity and noise, but as it is a 'permitted development' there is nothing else they can do.
I am also concerned about the inconclusive risks from magnetic fields as I have a 5 month old son.
Any advice from anyone with some experience in this area would be gratefully received.

Suggest if no legal advice forthcoming on this forum, you speak to a solicitor asap. This is more than loss of 'amenity'. This will place a severe restriction on access to maintain your property (ladders, scaffold, etc.) and is most likely to affect future value (leaving aside the contentious EMF issues).
