Given that we are not living in victorian times and we don't send young boys down the mines anymore. Is there an actual age limit for mine workers/young persons. If so, is the length of time young persons can spend down a mine governed by their age?

Thanks in advance.

16 to work underground
18 to work on the Coal face
Normal retirement age applies
Regulations brought out in the late 1990, paved the way for women to work underground as long as this did not take up the largest proportion of
their shift (i.e Surveyors etc)

Regards

Ian
