Posted By David Robb The connection unit has a retaining clamp which secures the cable and the termination of the cable within the cooker should also be secure. Remember also that if a gas pipe ruptures you have an escape of gas, if you accidentally damage an electrical cable, and a 6mm upward cable is fairly robust stuff, it should cause a fault and disconnect the protective device. This is all of course assuming the installation has been carried out by a competent electrician.
