Regarding domestic slot-in, free-standing cookers, installed in a housing association/social housing context.
I am well aware of the Landlords responsibility with respect to gas cookers;
to fit a safety chain (to prevent damage to the flexible hose and connections)and also a stability bracket (to prevent the cooker from tilting forwards).
However, I am struggling to find any regulations/guidance regarding fitting a stability bracket to a free standing electric cooker. The risk of tilting appears to me to be equally relevant, regardless of the type of fuel source

If your risk assessment says one is necessary, just do it!

The connection unit has a retaining clamp which secures the cable and the termination of the cable within the cooker should also be secure.
Remember also that if a gas pipe ruptures you have an escape of gas, if you accidentally damage an electrical cable, and a 6mm upward cable is fairly robust stuff, it should cause a fault and disconnect the protective device.
This is all of course assuming the installation has been carried out by a competent electrician.
