Posted By William Sweeting I have been having a discussion with a safety representative regarding training. He tells me that it is in the regulation that he must attend only TUC accredited courses. I do not believe this to be true, as in White V Pressed Steel Fisher. What is your opinion?

Posted By Crim Either may be true, however there is an advantage in trade union training as it is usually free to safety reps. I organised similar training some years ago in Liverpool and found the TUC most helpful.

Posted By Raymond Rapp It is my belief that TU reps are allowed to attend offical TU H&S courses in work time e.g. Stage 1&2. However, this is missing the point, is it not about working together for the benefit of the workforce? Not fostering a climate of adversity.
