Very briefly.

Injured person was fine to return to work - and do full range of duties - on 3rd day after an injury.

Line manager told them to have another day off just to be sure.

Do I report? I think yes. My boss (CMIOSH) says no.

Any views?

Hi Richard,

The criterion is lack of fitness to work, not absebce from work; if the IP was fit to work then it would not be reportable,

More than three consecutive days is the requirement

If he is off for three days and comes back on the 4th day no, not reportable, if he is off on the 4th day it is reportable

this does not include the time taken off on the day of the injury
